Do You Want Success? Part 3

01 Jun 2015

Glad to see you back for Part 3! Here is where we get our hands dirty. If you read Parts 1 and 2, then by now you’ve got a clear picture of what success is, and what success isn’t! You also understand how important it is to have a clear picture of what you want and what you don’t want.

No such thing as an original idea, just original people. It is your job to research those people. Take a look at the people who are doing what YOU want to do. Or have gotten the results that YOU want to have. With the power of the internet, this should be pretty easy! Here are some good questions to try and answer:

1) Where did this person start?
2) Where did they end up?
3) How long did it take them?
4) What did they do?
5) What was their sacrifice?
6) Did they fail?
7) If they failed, how did they recover?
8) What kind of help did they get?

You get the idea! It isn’t about looking at the end result and just being envious. It is about actually researching and learning from them. Now I must say, not everyone goes about their journey to success the same way. If you research a handful of people, then you may be inspired in your own ways and take a little from each person.

Also note, researching someone might be as simple as talking to them. Nobody said it is someone famous, or out of your reach. It could be a friend, a coworker, a family member, a neighbor. Get out there and talk to them! The one thing I have learned about people is that they are thrilled to talk about their journey!

Now go do your homework! and we’ll see you tomorrow for Part 4!
